0:00.0 – 0:02.0 | [Title: Unexpected Discovery] |
0:02.0 – 0:21.1 | [A line drawing of Tynemouth coast appears on screen]
I used to drive past Seaton Delaval Hall in the car every day on my journey to work. I live in Tynemouth and I used to work in Cramlington and my journey took me past the front of Seaton Delaval Hall. [The drawing fades away and a view of Seaton Delaval Hall’s avenue fades in, looking towards the road. The colours are warm. A stop motion animation of a car plays on top] But before I actually came here the number of thoughts I had about what actually was inside because I didn’t know the history of Seaton Delaval Hall. |
0:21.1 – 0:56.6 | [The view re-centres to show the Hall from the Avenue]
So it was, when I came here it was a discovery. From the front, the outside it was just amazing, I just had it in my mind thinking: ‘What is in there? What is in there?’ [A stop motion of stones forming a thought bubble with a question mark plays on top of the footage] That is how I came to be here, as I say, a combination of curiousity and thinking of something I would enjoy doing. And I think that first experience of when you first come into Seaton Delaval Hall is really something. [The video transitions to a naturally coloured shot of the Hall] Particularly the Main Hall, and just looking at it because it wasn’t what I was anticipating. I’d anticipated something like you see stately homes on television, something furnished, highly decorated, and it was, obviously, not that. |
0:56.6 – 1:06.0 | But it was just different but just amazing, just so exciting, and it just takes our breath away. So I feel very at home here.
